CATSKILL — A Rhode Island woman was charged with Medicaid fraud after an investigation by Greene County social services.
On Nov. 3, state police charged Tammy Moretti, 39, formerly of Catskill, now residing in Rhode Island, with third-degree grand larceny, third-degree welfare fraud, second-degree forgery and two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing.
Moretti allegedly stole $3,930 in food stamp benefits, $11,889 in Medicaid benefits and $99 in HEAP benefits from the county Department of Social Services. She knowingly failed to advise social services that she moved out of Greene County and New York State and continued to apply for benefits.
