RateH1N1 forums scheduled to allay fears
First of 3 meetings Thursday at Cairo-Durham High School

In response to the H1N1 pandemic, or swine flu, that has hit the nation, the Greene County Public Health Nursing Service has scheduled an additional series of informational sessions to keep the public informed and to allay concerns people might have.
Initially, two forums were held for the general public earlier this month, at Catskill Middle School and at Hunter-Tannersville High School. The forums were designed to let people know the status of the state's vaccination campaign against H1N1, and general information about the illness.
When those forums were announced at a meeting of the Greene County Legislature a couple of weeks ago, Legislator Harry Lennon (D-Cairo) requested that more forums be scheduled to address concerns in other communities as well.
The Public Health Department has now scheduled three additional forums, which are open to the public and are being offered free of charge.
“I would like to thank Public Health for adding three informational sessions to address residents' concerns about the flu,” Lennon said at the October meeting of the legislature. “Any questions from the public will be answered and information about the flu and the vaccine will be provided. People need to be informed about the flu, and about potential treatment.”
This Thursday, at 7 p.m., public health officials will be at the Cairo-Durham High School auditorium to provide information to local residents and answer questions about H1N1, as well as how to protect yourself from it and what to do if you get sick. There will also be information available about how to access the H1N1 vaccine.
Additional forums have been scheduled for November 2 in the Greenville High School auditorium, and on November 5 at Coxsackie-Athens High School. All meetings begin at 7 p.m.
With national concerns about H1N1 and seasonal flu swelling — and a possible outbreak of influenza in the Coxsackie-Athens Central School District — county officials are urging everyone with questions to attend one of the three upcoming forums.
“We encourage people to come out to discuss the swine flu,” Interim County Administrator Dan Frank said. “There are a lot of misconceptions out there, and we want to make sure everything is all cleared up.”
Concerns about the flu this season are escalating even more because of questions about the availability of the vaccines for those who want them, and doubts that they may not be ready in time to prevent a massive outbreak of the illness.
“I am really concerned because I heard on television that they expected to have 40 million vaccines, and we only have eleven million available nationwide,” Greene County Legislature Chairman Wayne Speenburgh (R-Coxsackie) said. “Places are running out of the vaccine.”
Frank said Greene County has just received its first delivery of H1N1 vaccines, but the seasonal flu vaccines are still in short supply.

the vaccine makers would go out of business,
which is precisely the reason why you never hear the Pharmaceutical companies OPENLY discussing what kind of toxic gunk is in them.
If people knew how many Vaccine-takers develop serious health complications as a result of the regular flu shot, they'd decline the shot and find other means of protecting themselves from the flu,
like adopting a good old fashioned HEALTHY LIFESTYLE for starters !
The government's statistics on Swine flu have been grossly exaggerated to breed fear in the populace,
yet they fail to highlight all the serious after affects (including death) that have happened to people AFTER they've been vcaccinated because they want you to get this dangerous experimental shot !
But if you desire some FACTS about this situation you are going to have to stretch beyond the Mainstream media,
because mostly they are just parroting the government's warped misinformation.
