Frederick Edward Conway
Frederick Edward Conway, East Chatham, NY, died at home June 30, 2009.
Born September 24, 1946 in New Haven, CT, the son of Frederick E. Conway, Sr. and Anne Conway, and brother of Daniel Conway who survives him. He served in the Navy and completed his BA while in the Reserves. Fred moved to Albany in 1977. He worked for the City of Rensselaer in a HUD-sponsored housing rehab program and later as a real property appraiser for New York State. The work he most valued was rehabilitating two homes for his family, both 19th century houses — first on Philip St. in Albany and then in East Chatham.
He loved bicycling, ice skating and baseball. A cancer diagnosis in 2004 and increasingly fragile health did not keep him from doing these things with those he cherished. Beloved husband of Wendy Bobseine Conway and devoted father of Patrick, Liam and Molly, he will be missed by a large extended family and many friends. A gathering to remember Fred will be held at PS/21on July 11 at 10:30 am. Those who wish may send memorial donations to the Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene, 47 Liberty St., Catskill, NY 12414.
