Betty Schoonmaker Thompson

Quiet presence

HAINES FALLS — Betty Schoonmaker Thompson, 74, lifelong resident of Haines Falls, passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at Benedictine Hospital.

Betty is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kevin A. Thompson of Haines Falls; her two sons, Kevin A. Thompson Jr. and Craig W. Thompson of Haines Falls; her four grandchildren, Victoria L. Thompson, Jeremy N. Thompson, Derek C. Thompson and Dillion S. Thompson.

Betty was the proud daughter of the late Cyril Schoonmaker, formerly of Haines Falls.

Betty’s love and pride for her family knew no limits, as did her love of the outdoors. She quietly enjoyed strolling around the property checking on the fruit trees and flowers, or sitting quietly in the sun keeping an eye out for some animal that may have wandered into the yard. We will miss your quiet presence “Betty Boop.”

Betty will be cremated and laid to rest in the Haines Falls Cemetery. There will be no services.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that a donation be sent to the Tannersville Rescue Squad.
