FDR HOCKEY

FDR 4, OCW 2

SAUGERTIES — Tanner Cornacchinni scored a hat trick to help FDR knock off Orange County West 4-2 this weekend in local area ice hockey action.

James Scanlon scored the other goal of the day for the Presidents.

“Alex Issler had a strong effort helping Tanner get his hat trick, said FDR coach Greg Moran, “We also had a strong defensive game from AJ Ullrich and Joe Walen.”

FDR goalie Joe Keyser was steady and stopped 29 pucks from reaching the back of the net.

“I’m very happy with the team effort,” added Moran. “Brad Holmes was injured and Ricky Kopec was under the weather which forced us to be down a couple men on defense. I am very happy how the underclassmen rallied and filled voids to keep the ship afloat.”

FDR improves to 3-1 in the league (7-3-1 overall) and hosts Warwick High School Saturday night in Saugerties.
