Alice L. Winnie
Senior companion
GREENVILLE — Alice L. (Griffin) Winnie, 78, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at Albany Medical Center. Born Oct. 25, 1930 in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Maxwell and Edna Heinick Griffin, and wife of the late Warren L. Winnie. Alice worked at the former Balsam Shade, Baumann’s Brookside, Flach’s Bakery and Freehold Country Inn, and was a senior companion.
Alice is survived by her three sons, Kenneth B. (Brenda), Robert J. (Kathleen) and Wayne L. (Gayle) Winnie; 11 grandchildren, John, Sherri, Kristina, Regina, Karen, Amber, Sara, Cody, Philip, John and Brandi; two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Kaylee; three sisters, Carolyn Kerchel, Janet Conde and Almeda Hempstead; and nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was predeceased by a brother, James Griffin.
Following Alice’s wishes, she was cremated privately under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Home in Greenville. Memorial donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Program at Albany Medical Center will be appreciated.
