Ludmilla (Milli) Engelmann Reinwald
Kitchen aide at Cairo-Durham
CAIRO — In the early morning hours of Sept. 12, 2008, Ludmilla (Milli) Engelmann Reinwald, 77, of Acra passed away from an extended illness.
Milli was born in Czechoslovakia on Feb. 1, 1931. On March 30, 1951, she married Rudolf Reinwald, and a year later emigrated from Germany to the United States. In 1968 they moved from the Bronx to Acra where they built their home and raised their family.
Milli worked in the Cairo-Durham schools as a kitchen aide for 10 years. She was a member of the Cairo Ladies Auxiliary Post 983. She loved gardening, dancing, and cooking and baking for friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rudi Reinwald; her two daughters, Lillian Helmedach and husband Joseph, and Theresa Reinwald and fiance Don Schelling; her grandchildren, Joseph and Alicia Helmedach Jr., Tracey and J.R. DelVecchio, Rudy Helmedach and Gregory Reinwald; five great-grandchildren; a brother and three sisters in Germany; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Andrew Reinwald, on Sept. 18, 1983.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richards Funeral Home, 29 Bross St., Cairo.
