Coxsackie Rotary Club raises $20K at auction
By Dollie Gull
EARLTON — Nearly 100 people thronged the banquet room at the Quarry Steak House Friday night to take part in the 14th annual Coxsackie Rotary Club Auction which raised $20,000. The money will go toward the various charitable activities undertaken by the club throughout the year, according to Pam Hassett, club financial advisor and auction coordinator.
Donations for the event filled the banquet room along with the crowd, which was treated to refreshments and opportunities to vie for some terrific prizes, including a laptop computer, vacation packages, a kayak and other goodies.
“Proceeds from this event will be used to support programs and organizations in the community, including the AMBA Wellness Blood Testing Clinic, the D.R. Evarts Public Library, Coxsackie’s Hermance Library, the Greene County Council on the Arts, the Coxsackie Council on the Arts, Coxsackie-Athens School Students of the Month, Coxsackie-Athens school scholarships, youth softball, baseball and soccer organizations, the Make-a-Wish Foundation of New York, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, the Coxsackie Rescue Squad and others,” said Hassett. “We wish to thank the many donors who provided the items for the auction, which included so many wonderful gifts.”
