CAIRO — The proposed $50 million development project, Alden Terrace, was outlined at town hall during a Cairo Town Taxpayers Association meeting Wednesday.
On hand to tell residents about the proposal were Charles Maggio, Alden Terrace's developer, along with his attorney, Donald Zee of Albany; Richard Lampert, real estate marketing expert; and Larry Regan, a developer from Westchester.
Leading the explanation outlining plans for Alden Terrace was Zee. Present as well to discuss Cairo's water and sewer situation was Cairo grant writer Victor Cornelius of Germantown. The development is proposed for a 30-acre site at the south end of Main Street.
Saying that Maggio had not come up with the concept for Alden Terrace without considerable planning, Zee indicated that a great deal of study and consideration has gone into Maggio's proposal. Included in the mixed-use proposal is some 85,000 square feet of buffered construction, including three housing units, retail and restaurant projects.
