Chinese piano virtuoso to perform at Beattie-Powers
By Jim Planck
CATSKILL — One of China’s rising young stars in the world of classical music will exhibit her mastery of the piano at the historic Beattie-Powers Place, in Catskill, Sunday afternoon, March 9, at 2 p.m.
The occasion offers an opportunity to not only enjoy the ambiance and aesthetics of a local 19th-century architectural and cultural treasure, but to do so amidst the resonating acoustics of Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Prokofiev as they fill the air.
Performing the piano recital will be Bard College Conservatory of Music student Wei Zhou, who has been studying the instrument since she was five.
