Young performers present a ‘Musical Mosaic’ in Catskill
By Dollie Gull
CATSKILL - The Bard Conservatory of Music concert series presented “A Musical Mosaic” Sunday, featuring young artists Amanda Gale, flutist; Sarah Wegner, clarinetist; Shun-Yang Lee, pianist; and Xianbo Wen, violinist, at the Beattie-Powers Place off Prospect Avenue in Catskill.
The musicians presented a delightful program including “Suite pour Violon, Clarinete, et Piano, Op. 1576,” by Milhaud, and Francis Poulenc’s “Sonata for Flute and Piano,” for an appreciative audience of members and non-members of the conservatory. Also featured was Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Unaccompanied Sonata in G Minor,” Ibert’s “Aria for Flute, Clarinet and Piano” and Ginastera’s “Piano Sonata No. 1, Op. 22.”
